The design rationale was based upon the Steampunk-esque theme of the project. For people not familiar with Steampunk, it revolves around an alternative Victorian reality, with fantastical steam-driven technology like flying machines, ships, machinery and weaponry, often adorned with brass, copper and gold ornaments.
In accordance with this ethos, the poster uses Victorian style fonts and embellishments, as well as brass/gold ornaments.
